Father's Corner

Dads, this part of the website is dedicated to each of you. We've pulled together resources to help guide and support your involvement in your child's life.

"Fathers who actively participate in the lives of their children reduce the risks of childhood poverty, child mental illness; and fathers who actively participate in the lives of their children enhance the chance for success in social skills, academic performance, adult careers and employment goals, and involved parenting skills for their future families."

-Proclamation February 2009, Responsible Fatherhood Month, Governor Jennifer M. Granholm

Michigan Fatherhood Coalition
The Michigan Fatherhood Coalition (MFC) is committed to improving the well-being of children by increasing the number of children growing up with nurturing and committed fathers. MFC assists practitioners working in the human services field to more effectively work with fathers to help them become better parents with thriving children.

Child well-being requires the presence of nurturing and caring parents who understand the value of good parenting and how this impacts healthy child development. MFC believes that both parents are important to healthy child development. We work with agencies and organizations to create more father friendly environments and intervention strategies that better support fathers.
